British mercenary Simon Mann, jailed last year for his part in plotting a coup in Equatorial Guinea, has expressed regret for his actions. “I regret what happened in 2004. It was wrong and I am happy that we did not succeed,” he was quoted as saying. Mann, 57 is expected back in the UK later after being pardoned and released from jail in the West African state, notes CNN. He had been sentenced to 34 years, but was pardoned on Tuesday along with four South Africans.
