According to Financial Times, Ghana announced it would renegotiate Vodaphone’s $900m purchase of a leading local telecoms groups after an official review into suspected “irregularities” in the deal. The dispute is a potential blow to the world’s biggest mobile provider by revenues, which has been expanding in emerging markets, including Africa, to seek faster growth. The UK’s Serious Fraud Office said on Tuesday it has contacted Vodaphone in relation to the deal, though it has not launched the investigation.
