Forest Whitaker and Keanu Reeves in “Street Kings”

Street Kings starring Forest Whitaker and Keanu Reeves was released in theaters in the United States on April 11th.

Forest Whitaker plays a cop of the Los Angeles Police Department, a role he knows well as he acted as one in the whole season 6 of TV show The Shield.

The movie is based on a book by James Ellroy, several of his books have already been successfully adapted to the movie making industry including The Black Dahlia and L.A. Confidential.

The movie has made a good start as it was second in box office stats this week end making more than twelve million dollars according to Box Office Mojo.

Forest Whitaker was reported to have enjoyed working on the film over the past few months (AP).

His role in The Last King of Scotland was rewarded with the Academy Award as Best Actor in a leading role in 2007 making him the fourth African American to receive this award.
