With its unique blend of purely South African songs and international gospel songs, the Soweto Gospel Choir has seduced the entire world.

During their 2009-2010 world tour, which takes them through France (Paris), The Netherlands, Japan, North America (US, Canada, the Caribbean Islands), the Soweto Gospel Choir will present a new program entitled ‘Africa Spirit,’ the name of its third album, which was rewarded in 2007 with a Grammy Award for the Best Album in World Traditional Music.

Whether singing a cappella or accompanied by musicians, the vibrant group combines dance, performed in colorful costumes, with some of the most authentic and soulful voices of South Africa.

Originally, the Soweto Gospel Choir was formed to celebrate the unique and inspirational power of African Gospel music. The 26-strong choir, under the direction of David Mulovhedzi and Beverly Bryer, draws on the best talent from the numerous churches dotted around Soweto.

The choir is dedicated to sharing the joy of faith through music with audiences from around the world.
