Facebook announced Tuesday that it is moving its more than 2,000 employees — and 600 million friends — to a new campus in Menlo Park, Calif.
The company’s new offices were the former home of Sun Microsystems, which was purchased by Oracle last year.
In a company press release, Facebook said it had been looking for a new location for some time, but struggled to find a place that could accommodate its “long-term business needs” as it continues to grow. Although the new offices are larger, the company said it hoped to create the same “small-community feel” that Facebook said it enjoyed on its previous campus in Palo Alto.
