Zambian miners attack Chinese managers

An estimated number of 500 mine workers demanding better working conditions at a Zambian copper smelter (Chambishi smelter) attacked their chinese managers. The workers threw stones at their chinese managers who took refuge in their offices until the arrival of the police. Buildings were set ablaze in the protest which was sparked by rumours indicating that the managers were about to leave for holidays, thus delaying their demands for better conditions. bbc
