Gambian soldier dies in chopper crash in Nepal

A Gambian soldier, Captain Famara Jammeh, who was serving under the United Nations’ Peace keeping mission in Kingdom of Nepal has died in a helicopter crash, Gambia Armed Forces (GAF) announced Thursday. In a press communique issued by GAF from its headquarters in Banjul, it was revealed that late Captain Jammeh met his death following 3 March chopper crash in Nepal. The late soldier had been participating in UN peace-keeping mission since April 2007 in that country. The communique expressed President Yahya Jammeh and his service chiefs’ sadness on the demise of the soldier. They prayed for God’s mercy and blessing for the departed soul as well as the well-being of his family members. Panapress.
