The United States Agency for International Development (USAID), in partnership with four Nigerian companies, has donated 362 computers to the University of Lagos to enhance technological development among students, according to a statement from the Public Affairs Section of the US Consulate in Lagos. “This partnership aims to improve the employability of UNILAG students and address the private sector’s fundamental complaints that University graduates are not employable,” the statement said. The companies involved in the partnership include British American Tobacco (BAT), Microsoft Nigeria, Ocean Energy Nigeria Limited and Zinox Technologies. “The long term goal is to create an institutional process by which UNILAG curricula will adjust to changing private sector skill demand. The value of this partnership is approximately 1.3 million dollars,” the statement added. Panapress.
