World Bank appoints New Country Director for Nigeria

The World Bank has announced the appointment of Mr. Onno Ruhl as the new Country Director for Nigeria, a statement from the Bank said. He takes over from Hafez Ghanem, who joined the Food and Agricultural Organisation (FAO) in November last year. Mr. Ruhl, an economist and a Dutch national, joined the Bank in June 1993 as Country Officer for Moldova and Armenia in the Europe and Central Asia Region. He has held various positions in the Bank, the most recent assignment being Manager, Results and Learning in the Africa Region’s Operational Quality and Knowledge Services Department. The priorities also include to support the Government of Nigeria in it’s development priorities, notably those for the power sector and the Niger Delta. Panapress.
