Regional francophone bourse closes slightly higher

The regional bourse for French West Africa (BRVM ) in Abidjan closed its trading on Monday slightly higher than the previous session. The BRVM Composite index rose to 0.51%, climbing from 226.52 to 227.68 points. The BRVM 10 index closed at 257.95 points up 0.62%. A statement from the bourse said the value of the transactions was 102.95 million CFA francs, compared to the 3.31 billion CFA francs at the last session. It said 14 of the 20 accredited brokerage firms, including 7 from outside Côte d ‘Ivoire, took part in trading. Stock market capitalization was 4,256,691,306,055 CFA francs while that for the bond market rose to 620,481,343,900 CFA francs. On the bond market, 216 bonds were traded for a total value of 2.14 million CFA francs, not counting accrued coupons. Panapress.
