The Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) has sent a delegation to China in an effort to beat the 15 April accreditation deadline for athletes due to participate at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. NOC spokesman Tony Nezianya told journalists here the delegation comprised NOC President Habu Gumel and the committee’s Secretary-General Banji Oladapo. Nezianya said while in China, the officials would also attend a meeting of the Association of National Olympic Committees, which began 5 April and will run through 10 April. “After the closing of accreditation on April 15, by 12 noon, no other accreditation would be accepted by the organisers of the Games,” he said.
