The High Court in Zimbabwe Monday dismissed an opposition petition for the release of long-delayed results of a presidential vote, lawyers said. Judge Tendai Uchena delivered the judgement in his chambers, and the eagerly-awaited ruling was confirmed by lawyers of both sides in the protracted case. The opposition Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) had petitioned the court to compel the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) to release the results of the presidential vote held on 29 March.
