Around 40 people, mainly children on their way to school, died when a bus plunged in to the Narmada River in western India according to BBC News. The accident took place in the early morning. The death toll is uncertain as villagers and police have managed to rescue several passengers but some children still are reported to be missing. Deadly road accidents are a real plague in India, killing thousands every year, they are mostly blamed on the bad shape of roads and reckless driving.
