According to Channel News Asia, food prices have risen by 21% in 2008 in China. This increase is linked to the worldwide food crisis the IMF and World Bank warned about earlier this week. The figures were confirmed by the Chinese National Bureau of Statistics. China has experienced a slow down in its growth in the last three months of 2007 going from 11.2% to 10.6%, the weakest performance in over a year (Financial Times).
