Yesterday evening Mauritanian military shot and wounded a French national working for a private security company in Nouakchott according to Reuters. The Mauritanian military opened fire on the security employees car as it passed near a military base and did not respond to orders issued by the soldiers. Mauritania is under high pressure in fear of new terrorist attacks after the killing of four French tourists in last December.
