Georgia’s air force commander claimed that the jet that shot down a Georgian unmanned spy plane earlier this week was Russian. The plane was shot down over Abkhazia a region that won its independence from Georgia in the 90’s. According to CNN, video footage from the aircraft showed a missile being fired at the plane from what would be a Russian MiG-29. Radar shows that the plane took off from a former Russian military base in Abkhazia.
