Dozens killed in Sri Lanka

According to France 24, at least 67 people died in violent clashes between rebels and soldiers in Sri Lanka this Wednesday. Violence started when Sri Lankan forces entered a zone controlled by the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE). The LTTE is a rebel group fighting for independence since 1972 for the Tamil minority in the northern and eastern parts of the island. The conflict has already claimed the lives of tens of thousands of people on both sides.
