The American actor, Wesley Snipes, was sentenced yesterday to three years in prison for tax evasion in Florida. The actor had willingly not paid his taxes since 1998 according to AP. During the same trial the actor was found not-guilty of five other charges, including felony tax fraud and conspiracy that could have led to him to up to 13 more years in prison. In a country where criminal tax trials are fairly rare the US attorney made an example of the millionaire: “Rich, poor, it doesn’t matter. We all pay our taxes.”
