According to AFP Chinese police shot and killed a Tibetan “insurgent” in the Northwest of China. This is the first death acknowledged by the Chinese government since the beginning of the crackdown that started more than a month ago. Beijing had blamed the death of 20 other people on Tibetan “rioters”. The Tibetan government in exile claims that over 200 people have been killed since the beginning of the crackdown. The region has been sealed off by the Chinese police and no reporters or journalists are allowed to enter.
