Senegalese International and Olympique of Marseille Striker Mamadou Niang is among the players shortlisted for the 2007-2008 Trophies of the National Union of Professional Football Players in France (UNFP), which reward the best players in the French tournament, a sports source revealed Friday. The selection will be made during the UNFP’s 17th Trophy ceremony 11 May in Paris. Niang stood out this season after scoring 16 goals in the tournament. Among his rivals are Frenchman Karim Benzema and Jérémy Toulalan of the Olympique Lyonnais and Brazilian Geraldo Wendel des Girondins of Bordeaux.
