At least 10 illegal migrants from sub-Saharan Africa drowned on 28 April off Al-Hoceima in the north-east Morocco, security sources told panapress in Rabat on Monday. The tragedy occurred as their makeshift boat, carrying about 200 people attempting to reach the southern region of Spain, capsized. Rescuers managed to save 183 people, the sources said. Meanwhile, Moroccan police on Monday arrested 23 illegal sub-Saharan migrants in Nador in north-eastern Morocco, as they attempted to reach the Spanish enclave of Melilla.
