The Zambian government is investigating how more than 600 Onshore Construction workers from India, employed by Konkola Copper Mines (KCM) in northern Copperbelt province entered the country. Labour and Social Security Permanent Secretary Ngosa Chisupa, who was briefing a parliamentary committee, said that his ministry, in collaboration with its counterparts at Home Affairs, were investigating how the workers from India got the permits, the state-run Times of Zambia reported Wednesday. Independent Member of Parliament Edgar Singombe questioned this issuance, saying it was wrong to issue such permits to Onshore Construction workers.
