President Evo Morales of Bolivia has agreed to face a popular referendum within 90 days to determine his remaining mandate of two and a half years according to La Razon. The president’s reforms have attracted negative criticisms from local governors. The state of Santa Cruz, one of Bolivia’s richest, is under political unrest after the government declared that the unofficial autonomy vote held last week was illegal. If he loses the referendum Evo Morales, his vice president, and nine other governors will have to resign.
