Al Qaeda Iraq leader captured, say Iraqi officials

According to CNN Iraqi officials claim to have captured Abu Ayyub al-Masri Al Qaeda’s leader in Iraq. However the announcement of the capture caused surprise and skepticism in the US military intelligence ranks. The capture is supposed to have taken place in the town of Mosul last night. Iraqi military stormed a house and allegedely captured Abu Ayyub al-Masri Al. Since June 2006, Iraqi officials have reported his death three times, his capture twice and a mortal wounding once (CNN).
