At least 10,000 dead in China quake

According to Chinese state run news agency, Xinhua, there are at least 10,000 dead in the quake that shook southwest China this weekend. The earthquake, of magnitude 7.8 on the Richter scale, is the country’s worst natural disaster in three decades. The quake relief has topped the government’s priority according to Xinhua as rescue teams are due to reach the epicenter of the earthquake later today.
