Lebanese opt for a coalition gov’t at Doha talks

A peace deal has been struck at the Doha, Qatar talks between the Lebanese Western-backed government and the pro-Syrian opposition. The deal will pave the way for the election of a new president . It also includes a coalition cabinet which allows the Hezbollah led opposition to excercise veto power. The BBC reports that General Michel Suleiman will most probably be elected as president as soon as Sunday.
