The government of Enugu state in South-east Nigeria has said it will assist in the refurbishment of the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in the state, ahead of the World U-17 football championship to be hosted by Nigeria next year. State Governor Sullivan Chime told journalists here Wednesday that his government would also refurbish the University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus, stadium. He said the decision was aimed at ensuring that Enugu was chosen as one of the four venues for the competition. Other venues being considered are in the commercial city of Lagos, the capital city of Abuja, the northern city of Kaduna and the South-eastern city of Calabar.
