Although homosexuality is not legally criminal in Turkey, a court ruling has demanded the closure of a gay rights group called Lambda.

The ruling was made following a complaint launched by the office of the governor in Istanbul on the grounds of the violation of an article that condemns groups with objectives that violate law and morality.

That group is appealing for a correction of the ruling.
