Ghanaian and Ivorian internationals — Michael Essien and Didier Drogba — were included in the list of selected footballers vying for this year’s European footballer of the year award, sports sources have confirmed. Essien and Drogba play with Chelsea of England in the Premier league. Twenty other players also have their names on the list of nominees for the award .
