The Libyan airline, Afriqiyah Airways, has opened a direct flight linking Tripoli to Dubaï, in the United Arab Emirates(UAE), official sources revealed. The inaugural flight of the new airline took place Tuesday night with an Airbus A319 of the Libyan company. According to the commercial department of Afriqiyah Airways, the aim of the airline was to link African countries with the rest of the world, highlighting that it would service four weekly flights between Tripoli and Dubaï. Afriqiyah Airways took delivery of an Airbus A319, 8 September, which was part of an order of 17 planes placed by the airline with the European manufacturer, Airbus, which is to complete delivery by 2011.
