Africa: official development assistance increased in 2008, OECD

According to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), Official development assistance (ODA) from the 22 richest countries in the world to Africa reached 26 billion in 2008. 22.5 billion of the total amount went to sub-Saharan Africa. With the exception of donations within the confines of debt relief, bilateral aid to the continent increased by 10.6% and 10% in value.
