Swine flu: South Africa not affected

The South African National Institute for Communicable Diseases has said there are no reports of swine flu in the country, despite the growing unease around the world.

The City of Cape Town’s executive director of health, Ivan Bromfield, indicated that local authorities were keeping an eye on the situation but that there had been no reported cases in Africa yet.

He said port control authorities must carefully monitor people entering South Africa after being in affected areas.
