French President Nicolas Sarkozy on Wednesday called for an expanded Security Council of the United Nations, said Le Monde in its Friday issue. Germany, Japan, India and Brazil, according to him, must integrate the body permanently. The President also said it was “not acceptable that the African continent has not a permanent member” at the UN Security Council, without specifying any specific country. Sarkozy has repeatedly hammered the need to broaden the supreme authority of the UN since his election in 2007.
