EU member states have agreed to a draft resolution imposing an arms embargo on Guinea and sanctions against the military junta, following the deadly massacre of September 28th. “The council has decided to adopt measures targeting the members of the CNDD and individuals associated with them, responsible for the violent crackdown or the political stalemate in the country,” read draft council conclusions. The council has also decided to impose an arms embargo on Guinea, states France24. The Economic Community of West Africa States (ECOWAS) also imposed an arms embargo on the nation last week, adding it would seek the support of the African Union, the European Union and the United Nations to enforce it.
